District 9 gets five awesomes out of five.
Funny People gets 3 and a half to four awesomes out of a possible five. Would have scored more awesomes if it had had a robot and aliens in it. And exploding people. I am now of the opinion that films should have more exploding people in.

Explosions in the Sky
Seriously awesome gig, apart from the GIANT JERK moving slowly backwards into my FRIGGIN’ FACE and then slowly diagonally into ANDY’S FACE. WHAT THE HELL. But yeah, all awesome apart from him. Made even more awesome by the absolutely huge guy. The whole evening was made slightly worse, however, by the stupidest people in the entire world sitting next to us at the pub. Seriously. Worst...

Lie in, walking dogs, social lunchtime pint, evening chillage. Perfect Saturday in my book. Also got Hotel Rwanda in the post. Gearing up to be really depressed.

God dammit. Just… God dammit! How would it even work, anyway? The first book’s set over hundreds of years! Don’t do it, Emmerich! Keep making films where everything’s bigger than it actually is and more explosive! How about 3012: Everything Explodes and is Unfeasibly Large?

Could be pretty good, I guess? S’gonna be pretty weird having two basically unrelated versions of Battlestar around so close to each other though. But Xmen 2 was pretty bitchin’, and I enjoyed the latest Superman film more than any of the others, so, I’m reasonably optimistic. That is my opinion. On the internet.
