Timequake - Kurt Vonnegut
As you can probably tell from a couple of recent quotes on here, I have been reading Timequake by Kurt Vonnegut. What an affecting book.
As with Slaughterhouse 5 and Breakfast of Champions, Timequake is a fictional platform from which to recount his life, and like Slaughterhouse 5 and Breakfast of Champions, it is in equal measures hilarious, mind-expanding and heart-breaking.

Saw Tree of Life, directed by Terrence Malick, last night and my experience went as follows:
First hour and a half: This is the most beautiful, earnest and thoughtful film I have ever seen. Holy crap the universe is being born! Good grief, these special effects are stunning! Heavens above, dinosaurs! This acting is unbelievable! This is going to be my favourite film of all time!
